Covid-19

Covid-19 Humanitarian works

During the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic, the Chengalpattu Rural Development Society (CRDS) recognized the urgent need to support vulnerable communities affected by the crisis. In response, CRDS organized a large-scale distribution of relief kits to 39,289 households across rural areas, focusing on families most impacted by the pandemic-induced lockdowns and economic hardships. Each relief kit contained essential items such as food grains, cooking oil, spices, and sanitary supplies. These provisions were carefully selected to ensure that families could sustain themselves during the extended periods of lockdown and isolation.

The relief operation was meticulously planned and executed in collaboration with local authorities and volunteers to ensure fair and efficient distribution. Strict safety protocols were followed, including maintaining social distancing, using face masks, and sanitizing distribution points to prevent the spread of the virus. This initiative by CRDS not only provided immediate relief but also reinforced community resilience during one of the most challenging times in recent history. The distribution effort stood as a testament to CRDS's commitment to supporting rural communities, particularly during times of crisis.

Besides with the dry ration kits, we distributed medical kits and oxygen concentrator and 212 migrants were sent to their home town by the support of local government and 1150 beneficiaries were given psychological support.
