“Education is the only weapon for lost and least” As the organization believes more on that slogan, CRDS focused on Education of the welfare Disadvantaged section, especially Dalits to promote the educational status through various educational schemes and projects. From the year of 1990 the educational support rendered by CRDS becomes a transformation for the poor Dalit community to promote their social economic, political and educational life. The organization provided special care on women needs and problems through women self-help groups. Through the continuous process of meeting women, and Distribution of loans to the SHG, s resulted to form 583 women self-help group and also existed to create CRDS women's federation with number of 7587 women which makes a History in Diocesan social work services.

The organization implemented Vocational Training and Skill based training to the men and women in the community to ensure women Rights and equality. To encourage the enrolment of Dalit children to attain enrolment in schools and colleges, supplementary education, summer camps, evening studies, summer coaching camps, special coaching camp were rendered to the Dalit Children. Through the continuous tentative educational programs, the enrolment of Dalit children at schools increased in a greater manner in a decent way. It’s also existed to reduce the dropout rates of scheduled caste children from the schools.

Chengalpattu Rural Development organization extended its service during 2004 due to the unexpected, nameless disaster (Tsunami) which takes off the thousands of life in coastal areas. The organization played a vital role in the tsunami emergency period. The works were scrutinized through the Chengalpattu Diocese, all the staff and volunteers from the organization. CRDS worked hard to protect and rehabilitate the thousands of life in the coastal areas. The tsunami Relief works were done by CRDS by ensuring the basic needs of the affected people by providing temporary shelters, water, food, food vessels. Awareness programs were conducted to the community to ensure health and Hygiene. The medical assistance and special first aid crews helped a lot to face the health problems of women and children. 2000 Families from 33 villages received help through CRDS. The Psycho social problems were also sort out through counselling and awareness programs during the tsunami period.
